Obesity medicine and metabolic health care

I provide comprehensive obesity medicine that looks beyond weight alone. I consider your metabolic health, sleep, hormones, body composition, and medical history together, then build a plan that is both medically sound and realistic for your life.

Is this care right for me?

  • You've tried to lose weight before, but no plan considered your full medical history.

  • Your blood sugar, blood pressure, or cholesterol is starting to move in the wrong direction.

  • You've lost weight and want medical support to maintain it.

  • You're considering medication and want a physician to help you weigh the options.

  • You're ready to take an active role in long-term change.

Is weight gain a willpower problem?

No. Weight is shaped by biology, hormones, medications, sleep, stress, life stage, and environment.

Obesity is a chronic medical condition, and it responds best to care that addresses those factors directly. That's why an evaluation looks at your weight history, prior treatments, medications that affect appetite or weight, sleep, and metabolic labs before we decide on a plan.

What happens during a comprehensive evaluation?

Your first comprehensive exam reviews your weight history, medical conditions, medications, nutrition, movement, sleep, and goals.

  • Weight and treatment history

  • Metabolic labs as appropriate, such as glucose, A1c, cholesterol, liver, and thyroid tests

  • Blood pressure and cardiovascular risk review

  • Body composition, with a DEXA referral when useful

  • An individualized plan for nutrition, movement, sleep, and medication options

Can you prescribe GLP-1 or other weight-loss medications?

Yes, when they are medically appropriate. Medication is one tool within a broader plan, not the whole plan.

We review benefits, side effects, cost, and your other conditions together. Many people regain weight after stopping medication, so we plan for maintenance from the start and reassess over time.

Can an obesity medicine doctor manage prediabetes or high cholesterol?

Yes. Prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol often improve alongside weight care, and I can manage them as part of your plan.

Your primary-care clinician continues to manage care outside this focus.

What Ardeur does and doesn’t manage

Ardeur Health focuses on weight, metabolic health, hormonal transitions, and prevention. We can evaluate and manage common related conditions such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol when they are part of your individualized care plan. Ardeur does not replace comprehensive primary care, urgent care, emergency care, obstetric care, or specialty care for complex medical conditions.
