I provide physician-led care for PCOS and for improving metabolic health before pregnancy or egg freezing. We focus on weight, insulin resistance, blood sugar, blood pressure, and nutrition, and coordinate with your OB-GYN or reproductive endocrinologist when appropriate.
PCOS and preconception care
Is this care right for me?
You've been diagnosed with PCOS, or think you may have it.
Irregular cycles, weight changes, or insulin resistance are part of your picture.
You're planning a pregnancy in the next year or two.
You're preparing for egg freezing and want to address metabolic health first.
You want a physician who works alongside your fertility team.
How is insulin resistance linked to PCOS?
Insulin resistance is common in PCOS, including in women who are not overweight. Higher insulin levels can raise androgen levels and make cycles less regular.
Treatment may include nutrition and activity changes, sleep support, and medications such as metformin or, when appropriate, weight-management medication.
How can I improve metabolic health before pregnancy or egg freezing?
Improving blood sugar, blood pressure, weight, and nutrition before conception supports a healthier pregnancy. We build a plan around your timeline.
Review of glucose, A1c, blood pressure, and thyroid as appropriate
Nutrition, including folic acid and overall diet quality
Medication review, including GLP-1 medications, which are typically stopped before trying to conceive
A timeline that works with your OB-GYN or fertility team
Who manages fertility treatment?
Your reproductive endocrinologist or OB-GYN. Ardeur does not provide fertility treatment, egg retrieval, or obstetric care.
My role is the metabolic side: helping you prepare, and sharing information with your fertility team when you ask me to.
Scope of care
What Ardeur does and doesn’t manage
Ardeur Health focuses on weight, metabolic health, hormonal transitions, and prevention. We can evaluate and manage common related conditions such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol when they are part of your individualized care plan. Ardeur does not replace comprehensive primary care, urgent care, emergency care, obstetric care, or specialty care for complex medical conditions.
