Perimenopause and menopause care

I provide thoughtful, evidence-based care for perimenopause and menopause, including both hormonal and non-hormonal therapy when appropriate. With specialized training in this area, I take a comprehensive approach that considers not only symptoms, but also how hormonal changes may influence weight, sleep, cardiovascular health, and bone health over time.

Is this care right for me?

  • Your cycles are changing and you're not sure why you feel different.

  • Hot flashes, night sweats, or poor sleep are affecting your days.

  • You're gaining weight around your midsection without changing your habits.

  • You want to understand whether hormone therapy is right for you.

  • You want a plan for long-term heart, bone, and metabolic health.

Why am I gaining weight during perimenopause?

As estrogen declines, the body tends to store more fat around the abdomen. Age-related muscle loss, poorer sleep, and appetite changes add to it.

A plan may include strength training to protect muscle, nutrition changes, better sleep, and, when appropriate, hormone therapy or weight-management medication.

Is hormone therapy right for me?

For many healthy women under 60, or within 10 years of menopause, hormone therapy is the most effective treatment for hot flashes and night sweats, and its benefits generally outweigh the risks.

The decision depends on your personal and family history, including breast cancer, blood clots, stroke, and heart disease. We review options, doses, and forms together and reassess over time.

What happens during a menopause evaluation?

We review your symptoms, cycle history, and long-term health risks, then discuss treatment options.

  • Symptom and menstrual history

  • Personal and family history, including cancer and clotting risk

  • Blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar review

  • Bone health and screening needs

  • A plan with hormonal and non-hormonal options

What Ardeur does and doesn’t manage

Ardeur Health focuses on weight, metabolic health, hormonal transitions, and prevention. We can evaluate and manage common related conditions such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol when they are part of your individualized care plan. Ardeur does not replace comprehensive primary care, urgent care, emergency care, obstetric care, or specialty care for complex medical conditions. Your OB-GYN continues to provide gynecologic exams and procedures.
